Founder and President

Founder and president, Lauren Sandberg Clardy brings 25 years experience in marketing, business development and commercialization with specialized expertise in bioactive ingredients, dietary supplements, functional foods, cosmeceuticals and contract manufacturing. Lauren has been responsible for some of the most successful brands on the market, and has been an early leader in the areas of functional ingredients and science-based nutraceuticals, consumer products, and nutrition. As an innovator in nutraceutical marketing, she has worked for companies ranging in size from early stage to multi-national corporations and provides strategic marketing solutions and business growth strategies for market leaders and technology visionaries in the B2B and B2C markets.

Lauren’s background spans all along the value and supply chain from early beginnings with United Naturals in distribution to having led one of the most successful dietary supplement and personal care brokerages in Northern California in the 1980’s. She went on to work in key positions for companies such as Hain Pure Foods, Sun Chlorella, Nordic Naturals, Traditional Medicinals, and Kraft Foods. Since 2009, Lauren founded NutriMarket and took on the challenge of creating and building a dynamic and successful consulting firm. During her career, Lauren has had her “hand” in the launch of hundreds of new products and generated significant incremental revenue for companies. Lauren has launched numerous companies into the market which have become category market leaders and successful new brands in the industry. Her clients range from early-stage innovators to market-leading multinationals. She brings to her clients a wealth of creativity and solid technical experience in strategic marketing, tactical execution, operations and business growth. Lauren excels at identifying and interpreting innovative new product and novel ingredient concepts, and works on all stages of development to transform trends and science into market-ready products.

She holds a BSc in nutrition from the University of California, Davis, and has postgraduate work in nutrition from Oregon State University. Lauren serves as a strategic advisor to early stage companies and functions as a principal with Nutritional Capital Network. She has been a featured writer for various trade publications and a speaker at conferences including Supply Side West, Ingredient Marketplace, VitaFoods, Natural Products Expo, Engredea, and Natural Products Association.
